White Overalls

If you had asked me a year ago if I would buy a pair of white denim, I would have looked at you like you were craycray and ran for the hills. White has always been my arch nemesis. Like legit, scares me to wear it still, but I love how clean and crisp it looks in the spring and summer. Needless to say, I’ve conquered my fear and embraced white and these overalls made it all worth it!

I love overalls, clearly. I’m a 90s baby, so they definitely speak to my soul. My grandma has told me over and over again as long as I can remember to “Always hold onto some of your old trendy pieces. They will always come back in style!” Sure enough, she was right and I’m so glad!

I paired the bright denim ensemble with a mixed print of stripes and leopard (a total fave of mine) for a nice pop of sass. These Old Navy overalls are SO comfortable. I even bought them in classic denim.

I also channeled my inner kid and attempted to do a cartwheel…quite a funny sight! I used to do gymnastics. With this form, you would never be able to tell haha

DIY “Do Not Disturb” Floppy Hat

I love a good floppy hat for the beach, but one with a witty saying is even better! I’ve seen quite a few gals sporting these adorable floppy hats with sayings like “Rosé All Day” and “Out of Office,” but the price was a little more than I’m willing to pay for a beach accessory.

Determined to make a trendy item affordable for all of us beach babes, I took to make it a fabulous DIY project. The best part, it cost me under $25.

WHAT Y’ALL NEED

A floppy hat…DUH! (I got mine from Target)

2 rolls 1/4 inch strung sequins

E6000 Industrial Strength Adhesive

Scissors

Optional: Pen for marking

You can get all of this, minus the hat, from Hobby Lobby or Michaels.

STEP ONE

First, you’ll need to decide what you want your hat to say. That’ll also determine how many rolls of sequins you need. I was able to use just one roll on the “Do Not Disturb,” but bought extra just in case. From here, I would form the sequins into the words. It’s best to practice this and get it just right!

STEP TWO

This is optional, but you can mark under the sequined words with dots so you helps as a marker along the way. Now you’ll take the glue and place it in little dots along underneath the sequins. Make sure to press down. They may seem loose at first, but this glue is a beast and will be super glued in no time.

STEP THREE

Let dry and cut off any excess threads and “strings” caused by the glue. TADAHHH! You’re done and ready to soak up the sun.

I will say this DIY project was a little more challenging than most because of having the be careful about moving the sequins and placing glue carefully. Be patient!

I would even suggest making this a fun girls night 🙂 Add some Rosé and you’re sure to have a blast!

denim on denim

No one will ever forget the Britney + Justin denim on denim duo back in 2001 (holy cow! that long ago…) and 15 years later they still slay that look. Before I go on, a shout out and thanks to them both for taking a risk and paving the way for all of us to rock all denim everything without judgement.

I’m a sucker for a good denim chambray shirt…especially when they’re soft and breathable like this one from Old Navy. And are those polished toes I spy?! YAAAAAASSSSSSS! Way too happy to finally be able to wear sandals. These Target sandals are the perfect neutral sandal for any outfit and surprisingly comfortable.

I topped the look with a bright crossbody to match my pop of red lip. Legit such a comfortable outfit and good for just about anything!

Also totally branching out of the norm with my hair this go around. I used to hate when girls wore the half bun because I just didn’t understand it, but I’ve grown to love it! I love a good high bun and not having to curl half of my hair is another plus. This will definitely be a repeat style!
